The Office Of Continuing Education

The mission of the University of Georgia Griffin Campus Office of Continuing Education is to enrich lives through learning by providing exceptional programs in a stimulating environment with superior service. Continuing Education provides a local hub within the Griffin Community for conferences and events, continuing professional education, and youth programs.

A variety of courses are available, with some offering professional certifications, Professional Learning Units , or Continuing Education credits. The Office of Continuing Education also hosts satellite feeds of live broadcasts from the Institute of Continuing Legal Education so that practicing lawyers may earn CLE credits to meet the requirements of the Bar Association.

In addition to professional courses, the Office of Continuing Education also offers educational opportunities for personal enrichment and development, youth programs, and community outreach opportunities. Conference facilities are also available by reservation.

Uga Offers 10 Free Continuing Education Courses

Courses on coding, marketing and more available through June 30

Free, self-paced online courses are now available to the public from the University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education & Hotel. These courses cover a variety of hard and soft skills that apply to workers across a wide range of industries and fields, and will be available at no cost through June 30.

Developing the right skills technical as well as people skills is vital for both job seekers and those who are currently employed, said Stacy Jones, interim director of the Georgia Center. We all are living in difficult times, and these courses on effective communication and customer service are useful in every work setting.

The courses include topics covering website coding skills, marketing, personal finance, communication, supervision and management, customer service and searching for jobs.

Self-paced online courses are valuable to anyone trying to learn new skills that will help them change careers or advance in their current roles especially for those of us trying to manage our workload while teaching and caring for other family members, said Kiel Norris, director of continuing education for the Georgia Center. We hope that Georgians will take advantage of these free courses as a professional development opportunity, and find out just how well online courses work for them.

Professional Interpreter in Special Education at UGA

The mission of Continuing and Professional Education is an extension of the School of Continuing and Professional Studies within Georgia College's Academic Affairs Division. We strive to enrich the economic, cultural, personal, and professional lives of diverse communities through high-quality educational programs and comprehensive conference and academic support services.

Admission to our non-credit courses is open to everyone. Interest and desire to learn are our only requirements. There are no educational prerequisites for most courses, and students are not required to send transcripts or take university entrance exams.

Serving The Community Through Lifelong Learning

We offer a variety of courses and wet labs each year for veterinarians, veterinary technicians, assistants, and the public.

Veterinarians must obtain 30 credit hours of Board-approved continuing education every two years to maintain an active license to practice in Georgia.

As of Jan. 1, 2009, two of the 30 hours per renewal period must be acquired in Georgia laws, rules and professionalism. You must keep a record of credit hours and proof of attendance for three years.
