Dr Dixit Diet and Acidity

BHARATI PAWASKAR

It's a lifestyle disorder - a result of sedentary life coupled with consumption of junk food and facing increasing amount of stress in all walks of life and living with wrong dietary habits. Diabetes, especially Type 2, is the gift of all this and more and more people are falling prey to it, not only in India, but across the globe. Nothing much can be done in Type 1 diabetes, which is mostly juvenile and the person suffers since birth. Here, the pancreatic gland does not produce the required amount of insulin or produces zero insulin, and the person has to be dependent on insulin every single day. However, it is the Type 2 diabetes that can be controlled to some extent.

"Diet plays an important role in controlling Type 2 diabetes and we have positive results across the world, of people following a specific dietary timetable and gradually getting rid of their medicines," claims Dr Jagannath Dixit who is known to have prescribing only two meals a day, and successfully bringing out diabetic people from the vicious circle of insulin doses and injections that precede their meals.

Speaking to TGLife on the various facts and figures of diabetes, Dr Dixit prescribes no medicines and recommends consuming only two meals a day and 45 minutes of simple exercise like walking.

It's called Effortless Weight Loss (EWL) – Lifestyle Modification Plan (Diet Plan). We don't provide any personalized diet plan. All diabetic members should follow diet plan as explained below. Our mission is to make the world free of obesity and diabetes.

The magical formula of Dr Dixit-late Dr Jichkar controls excessive insulin secretion and causes weight/fat loss from places where it is more. By increasing insulin sensitivity of the body, it postpones, prevents or controls diabetes. "The gain is weight loss, inches loss (first from the tummy), diabetes prevention, control and many others," briefs Dr Dixit. He mentions that this diet plan is not for people below 18 years of age, non-diabetics, patients of Type 1 diabetes, pregnant women and women who breastfeed their babies till babies complete nine months of age.

Eat Two Meals a day
Dr Jagannath Dixit, who has been appointed as the brand ambassador for diabetes and obesity reversal by the Maharashtra government. With the motto - 'Lifestyle disorder should be tackled with lifestyle modification and not medicines' – Dr Dixit aims at striving together with the patients to achieve reversal of diabetes. He says,  "One has to eat when he/she really feels hungry. Keep your meal timings fixed, these timings can be different for different people. One has to finish eating the meals and all the stuff you like to eat or drink in 55 minutes span (this includes medicines, if any, except Thyroid medicines) and avoid all sweets, reduce (not to stop) intake of carbohydrates. Non-vegetarians can take eggs (whole), meats, chicken, fish etc. One has to avoid eating in between meals except water, buttermilk, black or green tea. Ideally only water is recommended. You can break the diet plan only for genuine reasons. Exercise is a must - walking, cycling or swimming. In case of walking walk 4.5 km in 45 minutes. Exercise for 45 minutes at a stretch every day for at least 5 days in a week. Check empty stomach weight and take waist circumference."

Insulin dose reduced

I am 68 and diabetic for last 22 years treated by a Diabetologist from Mumbai. I began with video on YouTube of late Dr Shrikant Jichkar suggested by a friend and came to know in December 2018 that Dr Jagannath Dixit is spreading awareness of lifestyle of two meals for weight loss and prevention of prediabetes. I bought his publications. Met Dr Dixit on March 5, 2019 in Goa and started two meals a day. I took soaked almonds, tea in the morning. I am gluten sensitive. With this approach within three months I lost 4 kg weight and girth by 2 inches. My insulin dose was reduced by 40 units. Now on a lifestyle of two meals and dependency on diabetic medicines is reducing expecting slowly be off diabetic medication.

Amazing results

I was detected for diabetes in 2017 with high fasting sugar. A friend who was non-diabetic obese told me that he lost 13 kg in 3-4 months after following Dr Dixit Diet. I attended first session on August 10, 2019 and began following the two-meal-a-day formula on September 7. I have completed two months and experienced amazing benefits. I have got rid of my medicines. The initial hypoglycemia and acidity vanished and I am feeling refreshed and light. I walk for an-hour-and-a-half daily. My weight reduced by six kilos in two months.

Lost weight

I was suffering from diabetes for 10 years but was not on regular or strict medication. I started having two meals on July 6 this year and decided to stop medicines from July 19 onwards. My readings were good. I go to gym daily. Within one month my weight reduced from 74 kg to 66.6 kg. I do not consume wheat or rice, and have only jowar, bajra and ragi wheat flour.
