Best Beef Chili in Los Angeles
1. The Counter
The chili cheese fries are amazing + you can order them with turkey chili instead of beef chili.
Excellent custom built burgers. Make sure to try the crispy onion strings and for those with a sweet tooth, their shakes.
Two words: grilled onions
2. Philippe The Original
Their beef chili is delicious! Order it with beans too
The lamb and the beef sandwiches are the renowned dishes but don't forget a nice cake doughnut to top off the meal!
Order the lamb sandwich and get it "double-dipped" for extra au jus goodness.
3. Frosty Queen
Butterscotch dipped cones are a treat! Also love their onion rings!
New owners so my prior review no longer applies: "Fresh banana and strawberry shakes are classics. Nice grilled double burger. Landmark. They don't stay open late. Tailgate in the back."
Anything with ice cream
4. Boneyard Bistro
Try the pulled pork sandwich: a generous serving of exceptionally moist, gently shredded swine is piled atop toasted brioche and joined by pickles, raw onions, slaw and sauce. Read more.
California burger is kind of amazing...
A full-fledged, beef-intensive barbecue restaurant with gourmet dishes like pistachio-crusted baked Brie, whiskey-brined pork chops and pumpkin seed-crusted salmon. Happy hour Mon-Fri, 4:30-6:30pm! Read more.
Ask for the "Brisket Sliders" (not on the menu) - lean brisket, latke, jack cheese and applesauce served on a challah roll with a side of fries and cole slaw. You're welcome!
Great food!
Try the Bagel Chips!
Awesome salad spot in neighborhood. Kale salad w steak, Italian chopped and Cobb all winners. No wifi.
menu musts: fried egg on pretzel croissant; challah french toast; grilled chicken and fig; spanakopita; beet and goat cheese salad. $$.
great caps!
7. Public School 818
This restaurant has a great atmosphere with strong energy. The menu had lots of choices. The Bison burger was delicious although it fell apart at the end. I visited on 11/30/2018.
Ahi Tuna Tacos were amazing! Try the lemon meringue if you get a chance!
Food was great, want to shake the hand of the person who created the deviled eggs recipe cause it's bomb. First visit, service was bad, not rude, just inattentive, hoping it was just a one time thing
8. Simpang Asia
Delicious Indonesian food with a great little Asian grocery attached. Order the nasi bungkus for several different types of curry wrapped in a banana leaf.
nasi bungkus is a bomb!
"You can, though, get nasi bungkus across the street from the old Indo Cafe as was pointed out to me at length when I suggested that Indo Cafe's was the only version in town!" - Jonathan Gold
9. Public School 213
Buffalo Cauliflower is freaking delish and the Cali Creamin' draft is my go to when they have it!!
A great beer alternative to Library Bar around the corner! Here you get Racer 5 on tap; not in a bottle. The bartenders are super sweet too!!!!
Perfect happy hour treats! Food HH includes a sweet ahi tuna poke and scrumptious slides plus more (ends at 6:30pm.) Drinks HH includes cheap well drinks and a few drafts (ends at 7pm.)
10. Roni's Diner
My first time and I can't wait to try more! I had the sweet potato fries & the Mail Room Buffalo Chicken Sandwich is sooo good!
Get the chili cheese fries, no onions.
I <3 Roni's! Definitely 1 of my favorite spots in Beverly Hills!
Everything I've tried here, I have loved. The Churro Waffle is definitely my "go to" dessert.
Expect crap service but tasty food.
Try the breakfast sliders. They are to die for!!!
12. Public School 310
Great beer selections on tap. Skip the cauliflower gratin. Order the kale Cesar with salmon.
Green light the poblano and deviled eggs plates. Everything was pretty good, only complaints would be the undercooked cauliflower and too greasy on the tater tots. Solid place.
Everything is great but definitely get the tater tots and the deviled eggs.
13. The Grove
Pretty amazing mall ! You can find everything :)
The Grove opened in 2002 and has been one of the most popular tourist destinations in Los Angeles ever since.
This is a great place to visit when you're in L.A. It's just like an orange grove, but instead of oranges, you can pick designer clothes and funny outfits for your iPhone.
